Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) patients, members of Thyroid Federation International, leading medical doctors in Thyroid Eye Disease and endocrinology, and industry experts met on June 24-25, 2026, in Rome, Italy, for a two-day session to uncover gaps and unmet needs in the current Thyroid Eye Disease situation.

The Thyroid Eye Disease Patient Perspective Meeting, hosted by Thyroid Federation International, included roundtable discussions in which TED patients shared their journeys, challenges, and hopes for the future.

The event highlighted that the TED burden of disease is multifaceted. TED manifests as severe physical discomfort, debilitating visual impairments (like double vision), profound psychological distress, and high economic and professional costs.
